development projects are billed at the time of delivery. Generally a
deposit is required, but the actual amount and schedule of payment are flexible
and are based on the agreement reached by the client and NewlightSoftware.com.
Usually the process involves having us set up a mirror site on our server
that the client approves prior to the actual switch-over. It is very helpful
if the client has a copy of their web files, but it is not usually necessary.
If the client does not have their files and the site is fairly simple and static,
there is still no charge to set it up on our server, but if it is dynamically
generated and requires a lot of programming set up fees will apply.
After the client approves the mirror site, the company
which maintains records of the DNS servers for that site must be updated. It
usually only takes a few days for these updates to propagate throughout the Internet,
and at this point the change can be considered complete.
